Bright IT is a contract IT staffing firm in Columbus, Ohio, placing experienced consultants on contracts across the United States. Small on purpose: the person who takes your brief is the person you call in month eighteen.
Why we built the administration first
Most agencies are good at the fortnight around a placement and bad at the years afterwards. A consultant remembers whether the timesheet reminder arrived before the deadline, whether the invoice went out, whether the employment letter they needed for a mortgage took a day or three weeks. None of that is recruiting, and all of it is what people tell their friends about.
So we built that half first — as software, not as a spreadsheet and a good memory. Timesheets are read as they arrive, invoices are raised on a schedule against the hours that were approved, and letters are generated from the live record rather than retyped from an old copy. The consultant and the client can both see where things stand.
How we work
We do not send résumés we have not read. A shortlist from us is people we have spoken to, with a note on each about where they are strong and where they are not — and if we do not have the right person, we say so instead of filling the slot with three who nearly fit.
Some of our work is direct with the end client; much of it runs through prime vendors who hold the master agreement. We name those vendors, because a consultant deserves to know whose paper their contract is on before they sign it. We do not name end clients, because we do not hold agreements that would let us.
